Tewksbury is located in Middlesex County about 22 miles north of Boston and 15 miles south of the New Hampshire border. The town is a very close-knit community given its relative size. The principal highways that serve the town are I-93 and I-495, giving quick access to Boston, New Hampshire, and Maine. Bordering towns include Dracut in the north, Lowell in the northwest, Andover in the northeast, Wilmington in the southeast, and Billerica in the southwest. According to the Wilmington Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce,

Tewksbury was first settled in 1637 on the uplands between the Concord and Merrimack Rivers. Originally a part of Billerica, MA, Tewksbury was incorporated as its own town at the later end of 1734.
Tewksbury offers residents a variety of activities including shopping, dining, and recreation. Throughout the year, Tewksbury holds many community events including Summer Concerts on the Common, a Farmer's Market, Memorial Day Parade, Fourth-of-July festivals and fireworks, a Fall Harvest Festival, and a. Holiday Tree-Lighting Ceremony.
There are many great restaurants to try in Tewksbury, some of them being Al Frescas, Angelinas, Luna Rosa, and Main Street Sports Grille.
For family events, Wamesit Lanes Family Entertainment Center, Merrimack Valley Pavilion, and Escapology of Merrimack Valley offer all types of recreational activities including bowling, mini golf, laser tag, arcade games, dining, and more.
There are also two golf courses in Tewksbury: Tewksbury Country. Club and Trull Brook Golf Course. Tewksbury Country Club was just recently sold to Tree House Brewing Company. The golf course will stay as is, but a new beer hall will be opening up soon!
Tewksbury is a thriving suburban community with a mix of residential neighborhoods and diverse housing choices.
